Fruitpark Ochten, enjoy with the children in the Betuwe!
It is Wednesday afternoon and the weather is beautiful. The ideal time for an outing with girlfriends and the kids. This afternoon a visit to Fruitpark Ochten is on the agenda. This Fruit Park is located in the middle of the Betuwe and between the fruit trees there is lots to do for children. We are curious!
We have not yet left the car or the children have already found the playground. The cable car is a quick favorite, but the rest of the playground is also popular. There is also a large chess board and enough space to play soccer.
We can sit on the terrace of Fruitpark Hotel & Spa where we also have lunch. The playground is a little bit away from the terrace and there is water nearby so with small children you have to be careful. You have a view of the playground so our children between the ages of 4 and 7 can play happily after lunch is ordered. The lunch is delicious. The kids can choose between sandwiches with jam, chocopaste and frankfurters and of course fries. All variants are ordered and all plates are empty afterwards so I think it tasted good.
After lunch, it’s time to explore the Fruit Park further. We first visit the animals. There is plenty to see! Among others, there are goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs and horses. The animals have beautiful enclosures and like to be petted. What’s also nice, a little further on there is a stork on the nest with young!
Between fruit trees and over exciting bridges we walk to a watchtower. This of course has to be climbed. From this tower you have a beautiful view of the Fruit Park and its surroundings. We didn’t do it this time, but you can also play miniature golf at the park. The courses are scattered throughout the grounds. Great for a children’s party!
At the very back of the park is a barefoot trail. This is what the kids have all been looking forward to! So quickly take off the shoes and go! The children go like a rocket over the (sometimes quite sharp) stones, tree trunks, large boulders, sand and wood chips. On both sides of the path grows grass, so if you can’t walk on the path, you can always go through the grass. This is mostly taken advantage of by the moms, the kids seem to have almost no trouble with anything ;-). Most kids make as many as three laps on this beautiful path!
After the barefoot trail, it is almost time to go home. But first the horses have to be petted and we still play in the playground for a while. We had a great afternoon and will definitely come back again!
